A Dream Of A Bag by Mansur Gavriel

A few days ago I promised to show you my new Mansur Gavriel bucket bag in black / ballerina. This bag is so pretty. The leather feels smooth, but also strong and it smells so good. I own the regular bucket bag and I am happy that the bag is so roomy. I can easily put a camera in it, and there’s still enough room for more stuff. Let me tell you some more facts about the two women who founded Mansur Gavriel in 2012.

“We met and two days later, we started to design” are the words you can read on the site of Rachel Mansur (from Berlin) and Floriana Gavriel (from L.A.). The style of the New York based label is minimal and elegant, but with a cool twist. The colour scheme reaches from warm, natural and muted colours to timeless black, mixed with cool pop-colours on the inside of the bags. During the production in Italy, the leather is vegetable tanned and manufactured through age-old craftmanship.

I saved my money and it’s totally worth it. This label has reached a unbelieveable status in such a short time. If you want to get your hands on a Mansur Gavriel bag, you have to be as fast as a cheetah and as sly as a fox. Many people are outraged about the limited restock of the bags and I can understand their disappointment. I was sitting almost a whole day in front of several devices and refreshed my browser to see if the bags have been restocked. It was crazy. It was exhausting. But it was worth it. Now I know that I’ll never make fun again of people who are camping in front of an apple store to get the newest products. I’ve experienced something similar.

  1. What an absolutely gorgeous bag. I’ve been looking for something like that for so long but I could never find it. Lucky you! Love, Sjoukje

  2. Oh, that’s beautiful. Happy new year Jana! 🙂

  3. Hello! I just purchased the same exact bag. I was wondering what products you’re using to clean it. How is the interior lining holding up? Thanks so much!

    • Hi Selena! Thank you for commenting.

I didn’t need to clean my bag yet. But I would recommend to use a special milk or dubbin. For the dubbin I recommend using a fine-pored sponge. But please be careful and don’t use too much of the dubbin. Less is more. If you use too much of it, the leather can’t “breathe” anymore and your clothes could get spots from the dubbin. That’s why I prefer using a special milk with a soft, clean fabric.

Here is a post that could be interesting for you. Someone commented on this post that they use alcohol-free moist towelettes. And I’d also take a look at the purse forum. They know much better than me how to clean a bag. 🙂
